About Us

Pastor Fred Aikey
As a young man in the United States Marine Corps I was invited to church by a fellow Marine, who had just rededicated his life to Christ. The place was Grace Baptist Church on Red Bank Road in Goose Creek, South Carolina. I had no idea about the atoning blood of Jesus Christ, nor of the power in the preaching of the King James Version of the Bible.

Under the preaching of Pastor Gerald Townsend I became convicted of my sin, but I did not really understand what the Bible meant regarding these words: “Ye must be born again” John 3:7. I came forward to the altar that night, but I did not ask Jesus Christ as my Saviour. The Christian worker took me to a room to share with me the salvation plan. As he went through the verses quickly, I did not understand them. He then prayed for me and brought me to the Pastor to share my new found faith with the church. I continued to attend church there with my fellow Marines. I started changing my life to match the convictions of the Marine who had rededicated his life.

In June 1982, Sgt. Kenneth Baker had completed his tour of duty in the Corps. He had surrendered his life to full-time service for God, and left to attend Baptist University of America in Atlanta, Georgia. When he left I tried to continue my devotions, but they were empty. I could not find peace anywhere. On the weekend of July 4, 1982 reading Matthew 7:21-23 for the first time, I realized I had been living a counterfeit life. The convictions I had were not mine, but another’s. Because we say, “we know Jesus” or read His word, and pray, I knew those words in Matthew were meant for a person like me. Jesus tells those who are trying to live a good life without truly asking him, to come into their life and forgive them of their sins. “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

On July 5, 1982 I was at my home in my bedroom off base. I knew I needed to put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ as my Saviour, but I was worried what people would think of me in the church. I had brought folks to church to get saved. Many of them did receive Jesus as their Saviour. After being under conviction through out the weekend concerning my eternal destiny, I received Jesus Christ in my heart that morning.

On August 1,1982 I was baptized in the evening service. Pastor Townsend preached a message on Matthew 7:21-23 before baptizing me. After being baptized, he gave an invitation to anyone who could not remember if they have ever trusted Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Two people came forward – the first was an older deacon of the church and the other was the Pastor’s daughter who was in her second year of Bible college.

On October 1,1982 I surrendered my life to full-time service and enrolled at Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College in San Dimas, California. While attending PCBBC I worked at Bethany Baptist Church under Pastor Eli Harju. This was the place where I met the woman God had prepared for me-Ruth Contreras. We became husband and wife on March 31,1985.

We have served the Lord together in Southern California for over 26 years. God has blessed us with 3 children. Through our devotion time they all have personally received Jesus Christ as their Saviour.
Mrs. Ruth Aikey
I was raised in a Christian home where my parents kept us busy in church. I knew to be in church on Sundays and Wednesday nights. I was always in church when the doors were opened. Once again, that’s what I thought I was to do. I did not know about the worldly things out there, due to the upbringing of my childhood. I thought I was doing no wrong.

At the age of 15, I then came to receive the Lord as my personal Saviour on September 10, 1978. Since that special day, I now have the joy of the Lord. My life finally meant something to live for. I told others about the change in my life. I positively knew 100%, that when I die I will go to heaven to be with my Lord.

I was baptized on June 17, 1984 at Bethany Baptist Church in Whittier. The changes that took place in my life was to serve him even more with a purpose. The Lord led me in the Spanish department, choir, and the bus ministry.

On March 31,1985 I married my husband, Fred Aikey. We have been in the ministry serving the Lord together for 26 years. We have 3 wonderful children and they know the Lord personally. Life is much easier when you have the Lord with you. To this day I am still faithful in the ministry. God is still working in me! My life verse is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Sarah Viloria
I was saved at the early age of 4, during a family devotion led by my father. After my dad went through the Romans Road, I knew that I was a sinner and on my way to an eternal hell. I did not want that kind of life after this life had passed. I then, bowed my head and prayed asking the Lord Jesus Christ to come into my heart and become my Savior! Ever since that day, I had witnessed to everyone that I came into contact with. I started out with my two year old neighbor and I was actually really heartbroken when I found out that he did not understand God’s love. The Lord had opened my eyes to the need of every living soul and that every person individually needs to come to the knowledge of our heavenly Father! When I was eleven years old, the Lord was burdening me for the mission field and to teach small children. I had talked to and prayed with my pastor at this time. The Lord had put in his heart to allow me to start teaching Sunday School for the elementary children. The Lord then started working in my heart about going to Bible College after I finished high school; He laid West Coast Baptist College in my heart. After high school I did indeed go to West Coast and finished my college career there in 3 ¾ years! I earned my BA degree to teach in Christian schools! I am currently the 3rd and 4th grade teacher at Gethsemane Baptist Christian School and am working side by side with my husband, Rey Viloria, in our church! I am the Sunday School teacher for the elementary grades also! The Lord is so good as to see fit in using me and my husband to His utmost!!! Thank you so very much for taking your time to read my personal testimony of how the Almighty God has worked in my heart since I was a child and how He is still continuing to use me!

I was born in the Philippines on May 22 of 1983. I grew up in my childhood years with my aunts and uncles because my biological parents were not together. When I turned 11 years old, my aunt, Rufina and her husband, John Conrady decided to adopt me, with my brothers and sister. We stayed in Japan for 9 months and went back to the Philippines for 2 years and then finally came here to the United States, August 01, 1997.

Shortly after coming here, my new adopted parents started taking us to church. We started attending Liberty Baptist Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Here at this church, I heard for the first time about the Good News of the Gospel of my Lord Jesus Christ. I got saved on December 7, 1997; my life will never be the same. I was attending public high school at this time and my parents wanted to put me in a private school. Therefore, I started attending Liberty Baptist Academy for the last 2 years of high school.

While attending the Academy, I heard about a Youth Conference at Lancaster Baptist Church and West Coast Baptist College. I attended the Conference and a preacher preached from the passage of Isaiah 6:1-8. At the end of the service, I had a strong desire to be used of the Lord and give to Him my life for full time ministry. I made this decision for the Lord and determined that whatever He does with my life, I wanted to be used of Him in a great and mighty way.

After I graduated high school, I applied for West Coast Baptist College. Upon entering Bible College, my heart and mind was set for the Mission Field; I majored in Missions and Minored in Church Ministries and graduated with this degree in May of 2006.

One week before I graduated, I received a phone call from Pastor Derrick Goette and for 2 years I was with Harvest Baptist Church as a Pastoral Intern. After Harvest Baptist Church purchased land and a building for a meeting place, it was clear to me that our Lord was leading me to another ministry. I am currently serving here in Whittier, California at Cornerstone Baptist Church as the Associate Pastor. The Senior Pastor here is Pastor Fred Aikey. The Lord has led me to this ministry to help see it grow. As the Associate Pastor, I have the privilege to lead songs, preach Sunday evening services, and preach every other month at Emmanuel Baptist Rescue Mission in Los Angeles and most importantly weekly soul winning. My short term plan in the next few years is to establish myself for my family.

Please pray for me that the Lord would continue to use me and my wife, Sara Viloria, in this young, growing and needful ministry here at Whittier, California! Thank you so much for taking time to read my testimony. May our Lord continue to richly bless you and your ministry.
